Soft but colors bleed I agree with another reviewer that stated this yarn is so much thicker and softer than the Sugar 'n' Cream yarn however I have been very disappointed in the way the colors of the Lion Cotton yarn bleed. I use this yarn for making wash clothes and have washed the latest one green/white variegated several times and I'm still getting green water in my dish bath. I keep trying different colors 3 so far hoping to strike on a color that doesn't bleed because the yarn is so nice otherwise but I will probably give up and go back to the cheaper yarn.
Lots of knots I was extremely disappointed in this yarn. It is the first 100% cotton yarn I've used so maybe that is the issue but the skein probably has 6 knots in it. Where pieces were broken and then tied together. I don't know if this is typical of Lion Brand's cotton yarn but I have never had yarn like this before and don't think this quality should sell for as much as it did. I felt this was really pricey compared to what I saw it for at my local crafts shop. I only purchased to meet $25 minimum for free shipping. If I ever try this brand again I will purchase from a local store when I can return it or something. I'm afraid it will make my finished work look bad to have so many knots in the yarn.
Pleasantly surprised I purchased this yarn only because I found a worsted weight sock pattern I wanted to try and wanted an inexpensive cotton to make them in. The socks turned out beautifully and are super comfortable to wear. They are nice and warm and do not itch at all like wool does. The yarn was tightly spun and had no knots in it whatsoever. It's very soft and I could easily see using it for a sweater or anything you'd make in a worsted weight. The navy blue is very nice just the right amount of blue kind of like blue ink. I liked it so much I bought another ball to make a second pair.
Beautiful Yarn This yarn looks exactly as pictured. It is very soft to the touch. I haven't had the chance to use it myself but my grandmother was trying it. She made some nice pattern with it. You can't really tell from pictures what quality you will get therefore I am leaving a review so others will know that at least someone found this to be decent quality. I have never had a problem with buying Lion Brand yarn and will probably do so again in the near future.
Love Color! I love this YARN! It is so easy to work with and the color is very virbrant. My project turned out beautiful. The packaging was very well done and arrived very fast.
Happy Americana The Americana yarn is perfect for the upcoming celebration of the Fourth of July. I am knitting garter stitched dish cloths.
Just what I needed. The Lion Cotton was just exactly what I needed to crochet a cell phone holder. It arrived by the promised date. There was only one knot in the amount used in this project.
Lion Brand Cotton yarn is super soft I love knitting up dishcloths and typically use the peachesncream or the sugarncream cotton yarns. I tried this brand and there is a big difference in softness. The dishcloths I make are just as sturdy but has a softer feel. This is also nice for kids sweaters or just about any thing else you wanted to knit out of cotton. It is a much larger skein than the other two brands I mentioned. Just wish they had more color choices available at retail stores instead of just online.
